Feeling Safe and Free program

Feeling Safe and Free is a social change program led by Dr Marilyn Metta and designed to work with young people from marginalised backgrounds to build their capacity and understanding about personal and relational safety and wellbeing in trauma-informed and culturally safe ways.

What’s unique about this project is the use of a range of interactive and creative storytelling tools, resources and media such as theatre, puppetry, animation, storytelling, and different forms of creative arts for young people to explore challenging but important issues around respect, healthy relationships, sex, sexual harassment, coercive control and intimate abuse.

The program is designed to equip young people with the knowledge, tools and skills they need to be able to navigate the world safely and freely. The project will include information workshops for parents/carers/support workers to provide them with resources and tools to support their young people.
